Brainerd Elks Lodge Polish sausage feed planned

The public is invited to an all-you-can-eat Polish sausage, sauerkraut, beans and bread feed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Brainerd Elks Lodge, 215 S. Ninth St., Brainerd.

Cost: $8.

WHS Class of 1967 to meet for lunch

The Washington High School Class of 1967 will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the Oak Lawn Tavern, 15483 Highway 18.

Sons of Norway to meet

The Sons of Norway Sagatun Lodge of Brainerd will meet 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd.

The program for the evening will feature Kari Tauring from the Twin Cities. Tauring is a Nordic folk musician, cultural educator and spiritual leader as she pulls on the strings of the ancient of rituals and follows these threads into our modern Norwegian American habits around honoring our ancestors. Lunch will be served following the presentation.

Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club meeting planned

BAXTER—The Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at The Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6190 Fairview Road, Baxter.

The guest speaker will be the author of "Nickel Quilts," Pat Speth.

A business meeting will follow her talk and trunk show.

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

The Legion Riders will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12.

The Auxiliary will host its annual Teachers' Tea from 3-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. All area educators and staff are invited to attend.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Prime Rib dinner for $15 will be the special on Friday, Nov. 16. Walleye is also available for $11. Serving begins at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, Nov. 17, broasted chicken and ribs will be served from 3-6 p.m. (Order 1/4 dark chicken plus 1/4 rack ribs for $12. White chicken plus ribs are $12.50.

Nisswa Women's Club to meet

NISSWA—The Nisswa Women's Club will meet Thursday, Nov. 15, at Grandview Lodge.

Social time will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch served at noon. Donations will be collected for the Mid-Minnesota Women's Center.

The program is "The Woodland Meadow Christmas in the Lakes Area" presented by Peg Schoening and Jessica Johnson.

Hostesses are Nancy Knowles, Candy Barnack, Diane Eitrheim, Sharon Halliwill and Margaret Sommerfeld. Jan Halvorson will present the inspirational.

The Class of 1966 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at 612 Station on Front Street in Brainerd.

Brainerd Eagles Club breakfast and bake sale planned

The Brainerd Eagles Club breakfast and bake sale will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at 124 Front St., Brainerd, featuring the Eagles' special for $8.

The Center's Morning Club to meet

The Center's Morning Club will meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at The Center, 803 Kingwood St., Brainerd.

Speaker is Erin Janke, a volunteer and puppy raiser for Can Do Canines Assistance Dogs in New Hope. She will be here to talk about her role as a puppy raiser for the organization. She will also share the types of disabilities the dogs are trained to assist, how to act around an assistance dog in public, and the differences between assistance/service dogs, therapy dogs and emotional support dogs.

Can Do Canines is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities by creating mutually beneficial partnerships with specially trained dogs.

NARFE meeting set

The November meeting of the National Association of Retired and active Federal Employees will be noon Wednesday, Nov. 14, at The Skillet restaurant, 123 Washington St., Brainerd.

Following lunch, there will be a speaker from the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department, followed by the business meeting.

Remember NARFE is open to federal employees and retirees. NARFE supports Alzheimer's research and all contributions go directly to research.

Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary to serve breakfast

Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 202 will serve breakfast from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Nov. 18 at the Club.

Menu includes choice of biscuits and gravy with eggs or French toast with eggs and bacon. Both include juice and coffee for $6.

The proceeds go to support youth scholarships.

Xi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa to meet

The Xi chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa will meet 4:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the Brainerd Public Library.

The program is Fuel Up Forestview with Sara Lembcke as speaker. Members are asked to bring products for Forestview kits or gifts for the Women's Center Christmas gifts.

American Diabetes Association meeting planned for Tuesday

BAXTER—The American Diabetes Association, Brainerd Lakes Area Chapter, will meet 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Prairie Bay, 15115 Edgewood Drive, Baxter.

There will be a presentation on "Is Your Diabetes Care Working?" by Lynn Pender.

A diabetic-friendly lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Speaker will be from noon to 1 p.m.

Senior dances

Senior dances will be from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Motley Ten-Hi with music by Frank and Fran; from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at Waukenabo with music by Frank and Fran; from 1-4 p.m. Friday at the Deerwood Legion with music by Frank and Fran; and from 2-6 p.m. Nov. 18, at the Backus Legion with music by Frankly Country.
