The monthly meeting for the DAV and DAVA Crow Wing County Chapter No. 22 will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Brainerd VFW club.

Nisswa Women's Club to meet
The Nisswa Women's Club will meet Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Quarterdeck (former Boathouse location).
Social time will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch served at noon.
Our speakers will be Jana Shogren, director of resource and development at Central Lakes College; and Ali Maciej, a past scholarship recipient. The group will also be acknowledging 2018 CLC nontraditional scholarship recipients.
The hostesses are Jo Quam, Kathy Allex, Marian Anderson, Betty Huseby and Janie Pommer. Beth Passi will present the inspirational.

Brainerd Legion upcoming events
The Brainerd Legion family membership dinner will be Monday, Oct. 15.
Social hour is at 5 p.m., followed by a roast beef dinner at 6 p.m. The dinner is free for paid-up members ($8 for non-members). Dues may be paid at the door. There will be a number of special guests from the greater Legion family. Meetings will follow the dinner.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17.
A plumbers class will be 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18.
The special dinner for Friday, Oct. 19, will be broasted chicken (limited regular menu). Walleye dinner is also available for $11. Serving begins at 5 p.m.

The Brainerd Eagles Club breakfast will be 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Oct. 14, at 124 Front St., Brainerd, featuring the Eagles' special for $8.

Sons of Norway to meet
The Sons of Norway Sagatun Lodge of Brainerd will meet 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd.
The program for the evening will feature Dennis Rusinko, a founding member of The Viking Age Club, who will present an interactive presentation, which will appeal to Vikings fans of all ages. The Viking Age Club has presented programs and set up Viking encampments all over the U.S. and Canada as well as at the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.
The Center's Morning Club meeting to feature Harley Ellis
The Center's Morning Club will meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at The Center, 803 Kingwood St.
Speaker will be Harley Ellis, Prayer Quilt Ministry volunteer, who will be sharing how the quilts are made, to whom they are given and how the group began.
PEO Chapter CJ meeting set Tuesday
NISSWA—PEO Chapter CJ will meet Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Lutheran Church of the Cross, Nisswa.

VFW Sunday breakfast planned Oct. 21
The VFW Sunday breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 21. Cost is $8.
Chapter DV of PEO to meet Monday
Chapter DV of PEO will meet 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the First Congregational Church, Brainerd.
Lavonne Neff will host with Emelie Augustine as co-host. The program will be "Elbows Off The Table: A Napkin Folding Demonstration" by Kay and Minde. Don't forget to bring a napkin.
Hackensack Legion breakfast planned
HACKENSACK—Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 202 will serve breakfast 8:30-11:30 a.m. Oct. 21, at the Club.
Menu includes choice of pancakes, bacon and eggs; or eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and toast. Both include juice and coffee for $6. The proceeds support youth scholarships.

BAXTER—The Brainerd Area Retired Educators will meet for a luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Prairie Bay in Baxter.
Speaker will be Shannon Wussow from the Mid-Minnesota Women's Center.
