■ Brunt of winter storm to miss Brainerd
The bulk of the winter storm that slammed most of the Midwest Thursday will probably miss the Brainerd area.
Snow is still expected, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth, but only up to 2 inches on Friday. On Saturday it will be mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of precipitation high temperatures of 27 to 32 degrees and 5 mph winds.
A chance of precipitation returns Sunday night, with a 20 percent chance of light snow, followed by a 30 percent chance Monday and Tuesday and a 20 percent chance Wednesday.
