The Brainerd Warrior cross country ski teams finished second in both boys and girls races at the five-team Bemidji Relays. Bemidji won the boys race with 97 points to Brainerd's 94. Heather MacIver led the Warrior girls by finishing second in 20:11.

Park Center High School's swimmers, winning both relay events, had too much depth for Willy Severson's Warriors, posting a 95-77 victory. Mike Abrahamson continued his superb efforts, winning both the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events.

The Salvation Army of Brainerd reports a total income of $1,725 for its Christmas Fund, falling short of the $2,000 goal they had set. They supplied 631 people with food through 113 food baskets. They gave out 583 toys, gloves mittens and hats.
