Just a few thoughts as we have leave another year and enter 2008. I fear and have hope about 2008 with a lot of ifs!
I watch drug activity across from my house in Brainerd and I've called several times from this past summer up until now and nothing has been done. I think the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department needs to up their standards on what drugs they're looking at and do something about marijuana possession or methamphetamine possession. I watch this every day and it's in a neighborhood with children.

The best walleye action is taking place during the evening hours in 12 to 22 feet at Lake Miltona, Lake Le Homme Dieu, and Reno Lake. There's an evening crappie bite on the north end of Le Homme Dieu over 18 to 22 feet and on Lake Darling in 20 feet. Look to Little Mary Lake for sunfish and crappies in 12 to 14 feet.

CO Gary Forsberg (Fergus Falls) received a nuisance raccoon complaint from a homeowner. When they let the dog in for the evening a raccoon followed.
The fifth annual Brainerd Lakes Chapter of Muskies Inc. banquet is scheduled Feb. 9 at the Cragun's Resort Sports Centre in East Gull Lake. The banquet starts at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m.
