Dean Allen Markow, 47, Brainerd, passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2003.
He was born on April 14, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Kay and Mary (Voshell) Markow. He served in the Navy, had been in the construction industry, had worked for St. Cloud Refrigeration. He worked through the school system with the sixth grade football and seventh grade basketball. He also coached through the BYAA and the Brainerd Traveling Basketball Association. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Survived by his wife, Marie (Mack) Markow, of Brainerd; his daughter, Jill and his son Danny, both at home; his parents, Kay and Mary Markow of Solon Springs, Wis.; and his sisters, Kelly Markow, of Atlanta, Julie Lucus, Robin Hanley and Janice Markow, all of Solon Springs, Wis.
He is also survived by a mother and father-in-law and many brother and sister-in-laws of the Brainerd area.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda.
Services will be Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd with Deacon Roger Marks officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, from 4-7 p.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date.
