PINE CITY -- Todd Szymanski scored two goals and had an assist, propelling Pequot Lakes to a wild 4-3 victory over Minneapolis Edison Saturday night for third place in the Pine City tournament.
Regulation ended in a 3-3 tie. No scoring in the first overtime brought the game into a shootout. After the teams each registered three goals, a triple-overtime sudden-death shootout began. Edison missed its shot, and Pequot Lakes' Patt Hoffman beat goalie Jason Roberts to win the game.
