ELK RIVER -- The Brainerd Warriors girls' basketball team couldn't dig itself out of an 11-point first-quarter deficit and ultimately lost 44-34 to Eden Prairie in the third-place game at the Elk River tournament Saturday.
Brainerd's Megan Arns led all scorers with 15 points. The Warriors only shot 30 percent from the floor.
"From the opening tip, we didn't come ready to play," Warriors coach Carl Hendrickson said.
