Baxter Snowmobile Club members laid the ground work for the seventh annual time trials at the Quarterdeck on Gull Lake. The annual event draws racers from a three-state area.

30 years ago (1972)

Al Schlegel, Brainerd, recently bought the controlling interest in the Security State Bank of Pillager from M.M. "Red" Welshons, Jr., of Aitkin.

40 years ago (1962)

Frank Jensen, 50, operator of Frank's Texaco in Northeast Brainerd, said this morning that he will begin operating a city bus line here Wednesday morning.

60 years ago (1942)

Former Lt. Gov. C. Elmer Anderson, Brainerd, who was appointed to be secretary of the Minnesota Resources Commission issued a statement accepting the position.

80 years ago (1922)

W.H. Fawcett, or Capt. Billy Fawcett, in Brainerd, owner of Breezy Point Lodge, and President of the Minnesota State Trapshooting Association was honored in New York when the Westmere-Biltmore Country Club staged a special shoot for him.

100 years ago (1902)
