Little Falls boys skate to first victory

LITTLE FALLS -- The Little Falls boys' hockey team started slowly but scored seven goals in the second period on its way to its first win of the season, 10-3, over the Benson Braves in the Flyers' tournament Friday.

Chris Dobis had a big night for the Flyers with two goals and three assists. Eric Rakow added a goal and four assists for Little Falls, which outshot the Braves 58-19.

Crosby-Ironton/Aitkin 2

Wadena -- The Wadena Deer-Creek boys' hockey team defeated the Crosby-Ironton/Aitkin Grizzlies 4-2 to claim the championship in the Wolverines' tournament Friday night.

The Wolverines were led by Ben Dahlin with two goals and Mike Sartori who stopped 33 shots in goal.

The Grizzlies took second place in the tournament. They were led by goalie Trent Betley, who kept the Grizzlies in the game by stopping 30 shots on net. C-I/A's goals were by Trevor Betley and Calvin Draheim.
