MERRIFIELD - Funeral service will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids, for Lois Lorraine Wheeler, who died on Thursday in Crosby, Minn. Friends and relatives may call from 3:30-9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls at a later date.
Lois was born to the late Chester and Marcella (Cossairt) Nehring in Paynesville. She married Howard Wheeler on April 7, 1947, at Congregational Presbyterian Church in Sauk Rapids. Lois was a life member of VFW Auxiliary, Legion Auxiliary and Cooties. She enjoyed fishing and spending time on her deck at the cabin in Merrifield.
Lois is survived by her children, Debbie, of Merrifield, Thomas "Catfish," of Sauk Rapids, and Robert, of Rice; daughter-in-law, Carol Wheeler, of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren, Jon, Erik, Courtney and Tanya; great-grandchildren, Jeff, Chase, Keily, Jocie and Izzie; and cousin, Bob (Sharon) Smitten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, and son, Terry.
Memorials are preferred.
