PINE RIVER - The Central Region Clean Energy Resource Team will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 6 at the Hunt Utilities Group Research Campus in Pine River to learn how the city is planning and implementing the GreenStep Cities program.
GreenStep Cities is an action-oriented voluntary program offering a cost-effective, simple pathway leading to implementation of sustainable best practices that focus on greenhouse gas reduction. Citizens in Pine River have been working closely with the Initiative Foundation's Healthy Communities Partnership Program and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to pilot this project.
After the GreenSteps presentation is finished, the group will learn about recent incentives for residential energy efficiency and take a tour of the HUG Research Campus.
The presentation is open to the public and there is no cost. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP online at certscentral.event brite.com.
School curriculum committee to meet
The Brainerd School Board Curriculum/Student Activities Committee will meet at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 26 in the board room at Washington Educational Services Building.
Agenda items include Brainerd Lakes Area Development Corp., Sheila Haverkamp; gifted and talented study update; curriculum development, an overview of the process; and Adequate Yearly Progress plan and goals update.
