Patrick Paumen of Baxter plans to travel 3,000 miles to benefit multiple sclerosis. He and his friends will leave St. Paul Jan. 25 by snowmobile and make the journey to North Bay, Ontario. The return trip will make up the 3000 mile goal.

Truly Brainerd has had a good year but there is always work to do so that we can continually improve the quality of life for our citizens. A $400,000 fire ripped through the Baehr Building here yesterday. Four persons were injured, one of them seriously and five others were rescued.

War Bond Sales in Crow Wing County topped the million dollar mark today. General sales at noon totaled $1,034,208 or 129.6 percent of the $798,000 county quota "E" Bond. Sales this noon were at 93.4 percent of quota.

P. L. Houseman and Al Kuchl have made arrangements to open a new meat market in this city at 222 Fifth Street South. Both gentlemen are quite well known in the city.
