Armed robbery investigated

ROYALTON -- The Royalton Police Department and the Morrison County Sheriff's Department are investigating an armed robbery that occurred just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Royal 66 convenience store in Royalton.

The suspect entered the store with a semi-automatic pistol and demanded money from the clerks, according to the Morrison County Sheriff's Department. He then fled from the store, possibly leaving the area in a small Geo Metro four-door hatchback, dark in color.

The suspect is described as a male about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slender build.

No one was injured. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.
