Richard 'Richie' Tulenchik

PINE RIVER - Richard "Richie" Tulenchik, age 78, of Pine River, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.

He was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Michael and Clara (Olson) Tulenchik. He married Clarice Rudlang on Sept. 7, 1948, in Brainerd and they were married for 57 wonderful years. Richard was a veteran in the U.S. Army, serving in Japan during W.W. II. He was a member of Maple Hill Church and American Legion Post No. 49 in Pequot Lakes. He loved farming and riding his four wheeler.

He is survived by his wife, Clarice; children Roger Tulenchik (Joyce), Gary Tulenchik (Joni), Linda Crimmins (Corky), Cindy Nissen (Brad) and Bill Tulenchik (Tracy); sisters Ruth Brogle and Rose Chadwick; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be noon on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Maple Hill Lutheran Church in rural Pine River with Pastor Mel Nefstead officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Kline Funeral Home in Pine River and one hour prior to the service at the church.
