The Brainerd High School Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame induction has been expanded to two days for 2004.
A dinner is being planned for Sunday, May 23, in the cafeteria that is designed to welcome more attendance from the general public. Inductees will be encouraged to speak at high school classes during the day Monday, May 24, before they are recognized during the annual Recognition Night program in the high school gymnasium.
In the past, the program has been limited to dinner and the Recognition Night introductions on Monday only.
The selection committee will accept nominations until Jan. 16. Nominations may be sent to Hall of Fame, Superintendent's Office, Brainerd School District, 501 Quince St., Brainerd MN 56401.
Those nominated in past years will continue to be considered.
Members of the selection committee are representatives of the sponsors: Brainerd High School, Brainerd Public School Foundation, Brainerd Rotary Club and The Brainerd Dispatch.
At its December meeting, the committee recognized Charles Warnberg, a BHS alum and former Crow Wing County sheriff, who is retiring from the selection committee.
To be eligible for the hall of fame those nominated must have been graduated for seven years and must have gone on to distinguished achievement in their chosen field.
