FARGO, N.D. -- Darlene Eldora Smith, 51, Ottertail, formerly of Wadena, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D., of cancer.
She was born March 29, 1950, in Wadena to Brent and Opal (Bemis) Elifrits. She married Craig Smith on Nov. 30, 1998, in Sisseton, S.D. She was a manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken until her illness and then she worked as a supervisor. She was a member of the Knob Hill Sportsman Club.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Scott Yungbauer, Staples; a stepson, Kelly Smith, Ada; a daughter, Jeanne Graphenteen, Hewitt; two stepdaughters, April Smith, Lake George, and Stacy Ashman, Sebeka; eight grandchildren; a brother, Ron Elifrits, Staples; and three sisters, Linda Huisenga, Staples, Dorothy Young, Staples, and Deb Strain, Brainerd.
Her parents died earlier.
Services will be 11:15 a.m. Friday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena with Father Albert Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Wadena.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Johnson Memorial Funeral Home in Wadena.
