NISSWA -- Edith Guritz, 79, Nisswa, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at her home.
She was born April 26, 1922, in Riceland Township in Freeborn County to Martin and Marvyle (Stokker) Lysne. She married John Guritz Jr. on Aug. 24, 1946, in Hayward. They moved to Brainerd in 1957 and then to the Cinosam area in 1975. She was employed at Anthonies in Nisswa for 25 years before retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa and of the Cinosam Club.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Guritz, Bemidji, and Gregory Guritz, Prunedale, Calif.; a brother, Maurice Lysne, Hayward; seven sisters, Marjorie Thompson, Clarks Grove, Rebecca Medd, Hollandale, Alice Friedrick, Annandale, Va., Sarah Lunde, Bowling Green, Ohio, Grace Skaar, Albert Lea, Rachel Lysne, Tucker, Ga., and Ruby Armstrong, West Beach, Va.; and six grandchildren.
Her husband and a sister, Doris Wayne, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa with Rev. Kurt Wied officiating. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery at Camp Ripley.
Friends may call 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.
