ONAMIA -- Leo J. Salzbrun, 88, Onamia, formerly of Hillman, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at the Mille Lacs Nursing Home in Onamia.
He was born March 7, 1913, in Rice to John and Mathilda Salzbrun. He attended school near Rice. He married Peggy Rickhoff on March 4, 1935. They farmed near Lastrup and then in Lakin Township, near Hillman. His wife died May 8, 1968. He married Sybella Bujarski in Hillman. They farmed in Lakin Township until retiring to Hillman in 1978. He lived in the Mille Lacs Nursing Home in Onamia since July 2000. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Ramey.
Survivors include his wife; a son, LeRoy Salzbrun, Gold Canyon, Ariz; a stepson, Vern Bujarski, Hillman; a stepdaughter, Pauline Moren, Pierz; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jerome Salzbrun, Sauk Rapids, and Reiny Salzbrun, Arlington, Wash.
His first wife, Peggy, and a brother, Leonard Salzbrun, died earlier.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ramey with the Rev. John Ramsbacher officiating. Burial will be in Lone Pine Cemetery near Morrill.
Friends may call from noon until the time of services Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ramey.
Arrangements are with the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz.
