ONAMIA -- Brian Christopher Korte, 21, St. Louis Park, formerly of Onamia, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born April 27, 1980, in Manhattan, Kan., to Ray and Leigh (Taylor) Korte. He moved with his family to Onamia. He graduated from Onamia High School in 1998. He worked at Trophy's restaurant in Onamia until going to college in Grand Rapids for two years. He also attended Normandale College in Bloomington for two years. He was working toward a degree in forestry. He was currently employed at Seasonal Concepts in the Twin Cities.
Survivors include his father, Ray Korte and his wife, Sarah, St. Louis Park; his mother, Leigh Korte and Dana, Onamia; three sisters, Kathy Hazeman, Big Lake, Angelique and Tianna Korte, both of St. Louis Park.
His grandfathers, Hugh Taylor and James Korte, died earlier.
Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Onamia.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Onamia with the Rev. Rich Fitzer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Onamia.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at Bethany Lutheran Church and for one hour before services Friday at the church.
