Byron 'Barney' Briggs
LAKE SHORE - Byron W. "Barney" Briggs, age 83, of Lake Shore, Minn., died at his home Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009. Barney was born March 28, 1926, in Minneapolis to Henry and Florence (Jepson) Briggs. He had been a 40-year resident of the Brainerd lakes area. He married Janice Rheaume Feb. 25, 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Rheaume-Briggs; children, Carey (Ray) Rasinski, of Lake Shore, Kelly (Terry) Hurley, of Duluth, Tom (Nina) Briggs, of Baudette; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by parents Henry and Florence Briggs; sister, Connie Briggs; and first wife, Virginia Briggs.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29 at St. Christopher's Church in Nisswa with Father George Zeck officiating. Visitation will be at the church Monday 4-7 p.m. and Tuesday the hour before services.
