The staff and persons served of Productive Alternatives would like to express their appreciation to the following businesses for their generous donations of time, services and products to our annual Christmas party for individuals with disabilities. This year well over 200 people attended. NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) North Central Region would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the businesses and individuals that contributed to the annual NAMI Walks fund raising event that was held at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis Sept. 26.
The funds raised are used to educate the community and raise awareness that mental illness is a legitimate brain disorder.
Last year 2008 there were 1,500 participants that raised a total of $2,360 of that the formerly Brainerd Lakes Area (BLA) raised $1,370.
This year 2009 there were 2,300 participants that raised a total of $286,000 of that North Central Region raised (NCR) $3,062. The funds are used for future education of mental illness.
