Commander's breakfast is canceled for December but will resume on the fourth Sunday of January.

A New Year's Day party will be Jan. 1 at the Legion. Club opens at 10 a.m. The Kenny Jake Band will perform.

Class of 1944 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Wendy's.

Lois Club luncheon

Ray's Promenaders

Roger McNeil will be the caller for the New Year's Eve dance for Ray's Promenaders' square dance from 9-11 p.m. Thursday at the Franklin Arts Center. The lunch following the dance will be hosted by the club officers.

Sons of Norway-Tusenvann Lodge No. 1-659

ISLE - Sons of Norway-Tusenvann Lodge No. 1-659 in Isle will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at the I.R.E.C. in Isle. Bob and Charlene Wrobel from the Wild and Free Rehabilitation Program will talk about the work they do in rehabilitating wildlife and what people can do to help. Commitment to Community winner announced

HILLMAN - Richardson Lakes Area Lions Club from Hillman was recently selected as Crow Wing Power's Commitment to Community Award winner. The club was awarded $500 and a plaque because of the wonderful things they do in the Hillman area.

The involvement with Harding House, a home for vets with special needs, is to be commended. Area youths are given special opportunities, like holiday parties and summer fishing tournaments. The club is involved with community education and special projects to help the community.

VFW events

The Brainerd VFW will have a holiday Bingo session at 6 p.m. Thursday for New Year's Eve. On Friday, New Year's Day, there will be a Tom and Jerry party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for paid up members.
