Hanna Flood, the daughter of Robert and Marcia Flood of Aitkin, was selected student of the month for December sponsored by the youth activities committee of the Brainerd Elks Club No. 615.

Flood is a member of the choir, yearbook committee and is in softball. Flood is employed at the White House Supper Club. She plans to attend Winona State University to major in elementary education.

Two area students graduated from the Minnesota State University-Moorhead during the university's annual winter commencement. Jill Choate, Crosby, studied to be a paralegal and Abraham Wallin, Crosslake, majored in social studies.

Lindsey DiLuzio, a second-grader at Family Christ Lutheran School, has been selected as November's girl student of the month. DiLuzio was helpful in keeping the girls' restroom clean while the regular custodian was recovering from surgery.

Stafford Thompson, a kindergartner at the school, was selected as November's boy student of the month. Thompson helped teach students how to treat adults and students with respect.
