Adviser nomination: "Bradyn is the alto saxophone section leader in Symphonic Band and currently a participator in the Minnesota All-State Band. He's also the lead alto in Brainerd High School jazz ensemble. He's an exceptional musician and leader."
What interested you in the alto saxophone: "I've been playing it for six years. Out of all the instruments that there are to play, I decided to play the alto saxophone because it seemed to be the least geekish. It's fun to play. I like jazz music."
How often do you practice: "If I'm preparing for a concert I'll play it three hours a day. Otherwise, I play it just during band class."
Artist most admired: "Dain Hanson (a 2008 BHS graduate.) He was a senior when I was a freshman and he played the saxophone. I learned a lot from him by watching and listening to him play. I also admire Elizabeth Bonau. I sit next to her in band. She's amazing."
Memorable fine arts achievement: "Making Minnesota All-State Band in August. I was super nervous when I played, and when I saw my name in the first chair I was excited. They put the names on the chair to let the students know how they did."
Favorite video game: Madden NFL '06 and '07.
Favorite band: MuteMath.
Favorite TV series: "Lost."
Music you're into: Christian rock and pop.
Favorite Christmas tradition: "Not having school."
