Dorothy Carter (Anderson) "...Now she can see clearly, face to face..." 1 Cor. 13:12, age 81 of Motley, Minn., formerly of Bloomington, passed away Dec. 18, 2007.
Short term resident of the Staples Care Facility. Died peacefully with her beloved husband, Richard, at her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Judith Schaeffer; sister, Audrey Raidt; husband, Harry Anderson.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Carter; sons, Stan (Sheila), Steve (Leslie), Greg, Mike (Amanda); daughters, July and Patty; grandchildren, Pamela, Emily, Trisha, Zachary, Alex, Brandon, Richard, Erika, Lauren and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Tyren and Evan; and many dear friends, including the congregation and pastors at First Lutheran Church.
She worked for Zeigler, Honeywell and for many years at North Central Airlines, later Northwest Airlines, enabling her to pursue her passion for travel. Dorothy traveled all over the world, including Egypt, Israel, Europe and many cruises. Dorothy was a graduate of Washburn High School and always stayed in touch and also traveled with her graduating class, a group known as the Minnesota Connection. Another lifelong passion was cooking. She belonged to the Golden Valley Gourmet Club. Although she was a fabulous cook she remained amazingly slender. She prided herself on making a wonderfully welcoming home and loved gardening and bird watching as well. Dorothy and Richard spent winters are their beautiful home in Sun City West, Ariz.
A memorial services is planned for Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Pillager, Minn. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
