The Paul Bunyan Arboretum is open for skating on the pond near its entrance and for cross country skiing on its ground trails.

This year Flossie and Ben Clark's home, located about eight miles north of Brainerd, is adorned by a four-foot Alaskan Spruce, sent to them by their youngest daughter, Wanda Gibbs, now a resident of Soldotna on the Kenai Penninsula in Alaska.

The Brainerd Chamber is only one of many organizations and individuals who sent greetings to some 82 area servicemen. Many of the servicemen who have received these cards and letters are now sending back replies.
