Why do we continue to fight over religion like we do? No matter if you are Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Confucian, etc. Each religion or way of living dictates that we be kind to our neighbor, especially during the holy days of the year. How much more bickering, lost friendships and killing has to go on the world over in the name of religion? We humans never learn. Is all the hoopla over Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas just another wedge issue the right-wingers started to take our minds off the poor state of our country right now?
Funnel money to kids
I feel very sad that the district passed their budget, cutting out programs due to a budget shortfall. I realize that government money comes from different sources. But why are we spending mega money building a new psychiatric hospital when there is a perfect one already in this town? That money could be funneled in to our schools. I work on the state campus; we have a very secure and comfortable environment. Why build new? Will it be as safe for the patients and staff? Why not funnel that money into our kids? At this point they need it more.
A joy it would be
What a joy it would be to listen to beautiful Christmas music on the radio instead of everything always all jazzed up.
The Dispatch and WJJY are teaming up for 24 hours of Christmas music from 3 p.m. Saturday through 3 p.m. Sunday at 106.7 FM.
Too tough for a dictator
It's nice to see that Pequot Lakes is getting rid of their superintendent of schools. If it isn't working out, they should get out. Schools are the heart of a growing community. Too bad the superintendent of Crosby schools can't figure this out but I guess it's too tough for a dictator to step down.
