Fawn at the feeder

Posted: Wednesday, December 23, 2009

Martha Youngblood, rural Pine Center, wrote, "This picture was taken today, Dec. 14. This little fawn and its mother have been coming to my feeder for the past few days. DNR said it seldom happens that does give birth to fawns this late in the year, but that it does occur. And the survival rate is poor - due to the deep snow and possible predators. Let's pray this little one makes it!" Do you have a recent scenic picture that shows the beauty of the lakes area? Send it to photos@brainerddispatch.com for possible publication in the Neighbors section. Be sure to include your name, where you are from, a brief description of the photo and when and where it was taken.
