Kixters win high kick division

The Warrior Dance Team "The Kixters" won the high kick division in the AAA Rematch of Champions Friday at Bloomington Kennedy High School. Finalists from lasts year's state competition competed in the event sponsored by the Minnesota Vikings.

Brainerd won with four ranking points; Apple Valley was second place with 6 ranking points; Mounds View was third, with nine ranking points; and Maple Grove took fourth with 10 ranking points.

Brainerd Kixter Head Coach Cindy Clough said the team with the top overall score, combining high kick and jazz, was asked to perform at the Saturday Vikings game. The Kixters missed the opportunity by three points. Brainerd had 397 total points and Maple Grove had 400 total points.

Jazz scores were not provided by the Kixters.
