Christa M. Larson

HACKENSACK - Christa Maria Larson, 71, of Hackensack, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, surrounded by her children at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, Minn. A celebration of her life is planned for Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Hackensack Senior Center, Hackensack, Minn. Friends and relatives are invited to share special memories and stories of Christa.

Christa was born Aug. 12, 1938, in Germany, the daughter of Curt and Irmgard (Siloman Pflug) Erdmann. After growing up in Germany, Christa spent five years in London working as an au pair. When she returned to Germany she worked as a nurse. She married her beloved Richard, whom she met while he was stationed in Germany in 1967. They moved to the United States, made their homes in Dubuque, Iowa, raised their family in Chaska Minn., and retired in Hackensack. Christa was a caregiver and master gardener. She loved her family, friends, her home on the lake and her cherished dog, Freedom.

Christa will be greatly missed by her children, Martina Larson, of St. Bonifacius, Britta Larson, of Greenwood, and Bjorn (Niki) Larson, of Edina; her brother, Bernd Erdmann, of Germany; and her grandson, Jhett Larson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Richard; and her sister, Erika.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
