Luella Schlegel

PIERZ -- Luella Schlegel, 66, Pierz, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at her home.

She was born July 26, 1934, in Buckman Township to Albert and Mary (Pauser) Motschke. She married Willis Schlegel on Sept. 28, 1963, in Buckman. They ran a dairy farm all their lives. She was a member of Rosary Sodality at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Bernie Hoffman, Pierz; four brothers, Joe Motschke, Pierz, Sylvester Motschke, Little Falls, Leander Motschke, Pierz, and Mathew Motschke, Little Falls; and five sisters, Loretta Meyer, Pierz, Regina Britz, Pierz, Dorothy Theilen, Little Falls, Marcella Leeb, Pierz, and Delores Virnig, Hillman.

Her parents and a brother, Reiney, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding with Father Roger Thoennes officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Parish Cemetery in Harding.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today, with Rosary Sodality and Holy Name Society praying the rosary at 5 p.m., parish prayers at 7 p.m. and Knights of Columbus office of the dead at 8:30 p.m., and from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Brenny Funeral Home of Pierz.
