STAPLES -- Those wishing to register for a snowmobile safety class may call Staples-Motley Community Education at 894-2497.
The next session, which will be offered in the Motley Elementary School cafeteria, will be 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 11-12 and 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 13.
Space is limited. Preregistration is required.
Sign language classes offered
STAPLES -- Project Together is sponsoring Beginning Sign Language Classes, Level 2, taught by Jody Lynn Hoting, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays at the Freshwater Education District Building in Staples.
This class is for those who have completed the Level 1 class or have sign language experience. An adult who is also registered for the class must accompany those under age 16. A textbook is available.
Fee is $35 for six Monday night sessions, with classes beginning Jan. 8.

Motivational speaker to be in Crosslake
CROSSLAKE -- Travis King, a national motivational speaker and performing chalk artist, will appear at 8 p.m. Dec. 30 at The Old Fire Hall teen center in Crosslake.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $3 with a food donation or $5 per person.
King is a graduate of De Pauw University in Indiana. He has traveled extensively during the past two years with the organization Living Art. The organization places an emphasis on the use of the arts as a means of sharing God's message. The program is open to all young people and families.

The Old Fire Hall is open for teens from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The Old Fire Hall is on County Road 66 in Crosslake.
