As reliable as the sun setting in the west the Republicans can't seem to find a corporate welfare program they don't support.
Recently the Republicans fought to keep unreasonable tax breaks in our energy policy bill for Big Oil. Bush vowed to veto the bill if his buddies in the oil industry weren't given financial assistance from the taxpayers. The Democrats caved in and the taxpayers lost again.
The most profitable industry on the face of the planet comes calling for a handout and the Republicans fall all over themselves to hand the bill to the taxpayers.
With oil approaching $100 a barrel oil companies should be paying us more for our oil not less. It is our oil that Congress is selling them. Congress is treating our oil like it belongs to them to divvy out for political favors and re-election campaign funding.
