Agents attend conference
Several real estate agents of the Greater Lakes Association of Realtors recently were among more than 30,000 real estate agents who attended the Realtors Conference and Expo titled "No Limits," held in Las Vegas.
Attending were Bob Hamilton of Edina Realty of Crosslake; Gene Christianson, Linda Christianson and Sheila Holley of Edina Realty of Baxter; Kevin Goedker and Sandy Arildsen of Century 21 Brainerd Realty; Rebecca Sellnow of RE/MAX Lakes Area Realty; and Janie Weston, GLAR chief executive officer in Baxter.
Realtors and other guests came to the National Association of Realtors annual conference to stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in the real estate industry, networking with colleagues from across the United States and from more than 50 countries around the world.
At the conference, real estate professionals were urged to help restore confidence in the real estate market by educating the public about the value of housing as a good long-term investment.
In a press release, NAR chief economist Lawrence Yun contrasted current low-interest rates and high employment levels and explained how present market conditions differed from those in previous market slowdowns. Yun also told attendees that home prices are holding up well.

NISSWA - Mary Lange of RE/MAX Lakes Area Realty of Nisswa recently completed the e-PRO course to become one of a select few real estate professionals to earn the prestigious certification offered through the National Association of Realtors. The elite group of course graduates represents 1 percent of all real estate professionals in the country
The e-PRO course is specifically designed to provide real estate professionals with the technology tools needed to assist consumers in the purchase or sale of a home. The e-Pro course certifies real estate agents and brokers as Internet professionals. The course is designed to help real estate professionals stay at the leading edge of technology and identify, evaluate and implement new Internet business models.
