CHASKA -- Ferne Alma Holm, age 96, of Chaska, Minn., died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at Auburn Manor Care Center in Chaska, Minn. She was born Aug. 12, 1908, in Aitkin, Minn., to Oliver and Mary (Dshane) Welton. She married Evert John Holm in December 1934 in Crosby. She was a teacher. Ferne had such a kind, gentle spirit and will be remembered dearly by her family and friends. She was a member of the Eastern Star and member of the First Lutheran Church in Brainerd.
Survived by children, John (Pam) Holm, of Chaska, Mary (Paul) Dean, of Minnetonka; five grandchildren, Katie, Amy, Jordan, Gina and Neva; great-granddaughter, Elle; brother, Warren (Gladys) Welton, of Brainerd; and sister, Mary Hakes, of Aitkin.
Preceded in death by husband, Evert; parents, Olilver and Mary (Dshane) Welton; four sisters; and four brothers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 22, from 10-11 a.m. at the Chaska Moravian Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Chaska Moravian Church, 115 E. Fourth St., Chaska, with Chaplain Mike Eder officiating.
Pallbearers will be Clifford Hagen, Matt Velline, Fred Lilleboe, Scott Pearson, John Russell and Dave Radford.
Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby, Minn.
Funeral arrangements are with Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Jordan.
