Alois 'Al' Schirmers
BUCKMAN -- Alois "Al" Schirmers, 82, Buckman, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 at the Pierz Villa.
He was born May 31, 1920, to Martin and Margaret (Schmidt) Schirmers. He farmed south of Buckman and established Schirmers Trucking until the mid-1980s. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the choir at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman.
Survivors include a sister, Eleanor Machtmes, St. Cloud.
Three sisters, Sister Mary Martin. Marie Philippi and Hildegard Kinman, and a brothers, Ray Schirmers, died earlier.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic in Buckman with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz, with the rosary at 4:30 p.m., parish prayers at 7 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus office of the dead at 8 p.m. Friends may also call one hour before services at the church Monday.
