Seven search warrants were executed and five people were arrested Wednesday in drug busts in Cass and Crow Wing counties, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department reported.
In Ideal Township, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department arrested a 58-year-old man for distribution of methamphetamine. More than one-half pound of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $30,000, and four loaded firearms were seized.
"I'm very pleased with these recent arrests and will continue to pursue these illegal drug operations," said Crow Wing County Sheriff Dick Ross in a news release.
Also arrested for possession of methamphetamine were a 33-year-old male, a 35-year-old male, a 19-year-old male and one juvenile.
The arrests were part of an ongoing investigation of methamphetamine traffickers by the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department, NET VI Drug Task Force, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force.
Assisting were the Crow Wing County Tactical Team, the Cass County Sheriff's Department, the West Central Minnesota Narcotics Task Force and the Brainerd, Baxter, Pequot Lakes and Breezy Point police departments.
