Crash in Nisswa Friday leads to arrest

NISSWA - A 45-year-old woman was arrested after a two-vehicle crash in Lake Edward Township Friday morning.

The crash was reported at 8:46 a.m. on County Highway 4 just south of County Highway 18. The Crow Wing County Sheriff's office responded to the scene where a passenger car driven by Carol Ann Tarvas rear-ended a Hengel Redi-Mix Truck.

Tarvas was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was treated for minor injuries by North Ambulance at the scene and transported to the Crow Wing County jail where she was booked on charges of third-degree DWI.

Brent Leslie Mudford, 31, the Hengel Redi-Mix truck driver, was not injured. The Nisswa Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.
