Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Baxter, will have Christmas Eve candlelight services at 2, 4, 6 and 9:30 p.m.

'Operation Baby King'

The children of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Seventh and Church streets, will perform "Operation Baby King" at 4 p.m. Sunday. Cookies and punch will follow.

Christmas programs

First Baptist Church of Baxter will present a one-hour drama and musical cantata at 6 p.m. Sunday called "Christmas at Home."

The church will have a Christmas Eve program called "Christmas Carols" at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The program will be filled with music of the season and the history of the carols often sung and heard. For more information, call 829-5767.

The Alpha Course

First Lutheran Church of Brainerd will begin "The Alpha Course" from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 6. This 10-week practical introduction to the Christian faith offers answers to questions. For reservations or to learn more, call Pastor Linda Roal at 829-9552 or come to the Alpha dinner Jan. 6.

First Presbyterian services

First Presbyterian Church of Brainerd will present the Christmas story in word and song at its annual Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Blocker family will be musical guests and the Rev. George Buchin will give the Christmas meditation.

Ecumenical Blue Christmas

There will be an Ecumenical Blue Christmas service planned by local clergy at 4 p.m. Sunday at Aitkin United Methodist Church for those who are mourning, struggling or sad during the Christmas holiday.

Vigil for world peace

The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls invite people to join them at 7 p.m. Dec. 31 to pray for world peace. A prayer service will be held in Sacred Heart Chapel at St. Francis Convent in Little Falls.

Our Savior's potluck

There will be a potluck and time for praise at 6 p.m. Dec. 29 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes. John and Deneen Kloster will be leaving Jan. 6 for a medical mission trip to Ecuador, with 11 other northern Minnesota professionals and lay people. Pine River resident Katie Bradow will be traveling with them.
