4-H reports increased interest in programs

Posted: Wednesday, December 19, 2007

WALKER Jeanne Rohr, interim Cass County 4-H coordinator, reported increased interest in 4-H programs this year.

She said, in addition to established clubs in the Pine River, Remer and Leader/Polar areas, there has been significant interest shown for forming new clubs in Walker, Hackensack, Longville and Pillager areas. She said she hopes to see 4-H re-established at Cass Lake, too.

Rohr said 4-H is forming clubs around specific project types like technology, through after school programs and through community education programs.

Adult volunteers are receiving training to help them to lead programs more effectively and to improve programming.

Heidi Haugen, regional extension educator, told the board regional resources are now available to help 4-H obtain program sources from throughout the region.
