BOSTON (AP) -- The Gillette Co. on Monday announced plans to eliminate 2,700 jobs, or about 8 percent of its work force, and close eight factories and 13 distribution centers as part of a plan to boost its profit growth.
The company said its board had approved the restructuring plan, expected to generate savings of more than $125 million annually.
