Extra credit

Laura Bogenschutz, Baxter, and Laura Sperl, Little Falls, each earned a $1,000 chancellor's academic honor scholarship from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Bogenschutz is majoring in early childhood and Sperl is majoring in art.

Erin Rhode, the daughter of Charles and Marilyn Rhode of Onamia, has been selected as student of the month for December sponsored by the youth activities committee of the Brainerd Elks Club No. 615.

Rhode is a member of the choir, the prom committee, one-act play, knowledge bowl and is the copy editor and photographer of the year book. She also is secretary and vice president of the 4-H Club. She plans to attend either Winona State University or Mankato State University to major in psychology to become a substance use counselor.

The following two students graduated from Ridgewater College in Willmar and Hutchinson: Daniel Caughey, Fort Ripley, earned a degree in farm operation and management at Willmar and Joshua Pikula, Brainerd, earned a degree in drafting and design technology at Hutchinson.

Carrie E. Eiesland, Brainerd, graduated Saturday from South Dakota State University with high honors. Eiesland earned a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish and a bachelor of science in psychology.
