Harrison, Road Crew win at Big Bear

CASS LAKE - Nic Harrison's 130-pound championship helped the Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus Road Crew win the Big Bear wrestling tournament Saturday.

Harrison, who won the Paul Bunyan tournament last week in Brainerd, defeated Steve Keogh of Thief River Falls with a 6-0 decision to win his third tournament of the year.

That victory along with second-place finishes from Pat Bresnahan and Cody Schrupp and Darian Rubner's third-place finish helped the Road Crew to 180 points.

The Aitkin Gobblers placed second and received championships from Dalton Stevens at 119 and Matt Christensen at 171. Justin Chouanard was second at 145 and Andrew Hallberg was second at 160.

Finishing fourth were the Little Falls Flyers. They were led by Steve McMahon's 160-pound title. Charlie Wilczek placed second at 103.

Placing ninth were the Brainerd Warriors led by Nick Lingwall's second at 135 pounds and a third from Scott Padrnos.

Wadena-Deer Creek finished 11th in the tournament as Trey VanOrsdel (140) and Tony Wegscheid (189) each finished third.

Hayden Zillmer's 103-pound title helped the Crosby-Ironton Rangers to 13th. Brad Hofstrand, last year's Class 1A runner-up finished third at 112 pounds.
