The Morrison County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in locating a pickup that was stolen early Friday in an armed robbery at a home near Motley.
Sheriff Michel Wetzel said the sheriff's office received a report at 9:20 a.m. Friday of an armed robbery at a home in Scandia Valley Township in northwest Morrison County.
A white male, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a slender build and wearing full camouflage clothing, entered the family's home and tied them up at gunpoint.
The suspect then left, taking the victims' red 1995 Dodge Dakota extended cab pickup, which has a black toolbox in the bed.
Plates on the vehicle are Minnesota License No. LUW299 but it is believed that the suspect may have changed plates shortly after the vehicle was stolen.
Wetzel said do not approach the vehicle. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. The vehicle is believed to have been seen in the Motley area at about 9:25 a.m. Friday. It is unknown which direction the vehicle was traveling.
Wetzel said any contact with a vehicle matching the above description should be reported to law enforcement, no matter what license plate number is displayed on the vehicle at the time.
Information may be forwarded to any local law enforcement agency or directly to the Morrison County Sheriff's Department at (320) 632-9233.
