Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program to start Jan. 6

CROSBY -- The Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program will run 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 6-Feb. 6, at the Hallett Community Center, 470 Eighth St. N.E. in Crosby. Registration deadline is Jan. 2.

The program is for any adult with any type of arthritis. The gentle movements in the pool can help relieve pain and stiffness caused by arthritic conditions. It is not necessary to know how to swim. People with severe joint problems or who have had joint surgery are encouraged to check with their doctors about the need for precautions.

Cost is $25 for members per session and $35 for non-members per session. Scholarships are available.

Wealthwood gun club event set Sunday

GARRISON -- The Wealthwood Rod and Gun Club Pancake Breakfast and Meat Shoot will be Sunday.

All proceeds will go to the Salvation Army.

A pancake breakfast will be held at 8 a.m., with the shoot starting at 10 a.m. Bring a non-perishable food item.

The Wealthwood Rod and Gun club is five miles north of Garrison, then one mile east of the junction of 169 and 18.
