The Garrison Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire in Pine Center Tuesday afternoon.
Garrison Firefighter Kari Hough said it appeared the fire started underneath the mobile home after heat tape on a water pipe malfunctioned, igniting foam insulation. It was a minor fire; no one was injured and damage was minimal, said Hough. The fire was out before firefighters arrived.
"He was very lucky," said Hough, of the homeowner. "It could have started the trailer on fire very easily."
The name and address of the homeowner was unavailable today.
