NISSWA -- Four people were injured in two separate accidents Saturday on Crow Wing County Road 13 in Nisswa, a half mile from Highway 371.
The first accident happened about 10:25 a.m. It was a single-vehicle accident. The driver, David Meyer, 16, Baxter, told the Nisswa Police Department he was eastbound on County Road 13 when he hit ice, lost control of his vehicle, slid off the roadway and hit a tree.
Meyer was treated at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd and released.
The second accident on County Road 13, reported at 11:43 a.m., was a two-vehicle, head-on collision.
The driver of one vehicle, Valdean Lueck, 59, Nisswa, suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale where today she was reported in critical condition.
The driver of the second vehicle, Lindsey Hanson, 17, and a passenger in her vehicle, Shawn Hanson, 11, both of Pequot Lakes, were treated at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd and released.
Lindsey Hanson was driving eastbound on County Road 13 when her vehicle went onto the shoulder, started spinning, crossed over the roadway center line and struck Lueck's vehicle.
