WASHINGTON - Two federal grants totaling more than $200,000 will help create new jobs in Minnesota.
Congressman Jim Oberstar announced that the Economic Development Administration will award grants to the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe and the Region Five Development Commission, which covers Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd and Wadena counties.
Both organizations will use the funding to continue economic development planning that encourages new investment and job creation.
The EDA is awarding the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe $152,628 and the Region Five Development Commission in Staples will receive a grant of $51,615.
