Smith receives Sertoma recognition
The Brainerd Noon Sertoma Club's Service to Mankind Award was presented this week to Glen "Pat" Smith.
Smith, a Brainerd area resident for many years, is the owner of the Brainerd Insurance Agency. He and his wife, Alice, have three children, Wade, Brent and Mark.
Glen Smith was honored this week by Sertoma.
For 12 years he has been a Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts leader, encouraging his children to excel in that program and become Eagle Scouts. His service at the Northland Arboretum for the past nine years has been instrumental in the success of that effort to maintain green space. He worked to make construction of the visitor center possible by his efforts to obtain donations of time and money. His other activities include being a member of the Brainerd Lakes Area Development Corp. Board, the Initiative Foundation and the morning Rotary Club. He has been a Rotarian for more than 25 years.
